A report by Deloitte said security breaches and frauds leading to financial losses are big factors in adoption of digital payment technologies.
Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio may soon start its high-speed JioFiber services in Delhi and the National Capital Region, according to reports. JioFiber service will be initially available as preview offer, which will include free 100 GB data for three months.
The 4G entrant has reportedly issued a note announcing that they will put up the necessary infrastructure for ultra high-speed internet services in a few residential societies.
The note, although not yet officially verified, claims that the task of laying optic fiber network around a specific residential society should be completed within two weeks on their part, after which the subscribers can enjoy ultra-high speed broadband services, according to Telecomtalk.
However, customers will have to deposit Rs 4500 as a refundable security deposit for residential Gateway with latest WiFi standard, the note claimed.
The note further suggested that Jio will also offer services like Fixed Voice service, Media share service, Live and Catchup TV on large screen, Home Automation services, Surveillance and Gaming services.
The JioFiber network is capable to carry data speed up to 1 Gbps. It is currently being rolled out in at least 10 large cities, including all metros, in addition to Delhi’s satellite towns of Noida and Gurgaon.
The company is identifying mega clusters such as high-rise residential apartments and commercial establishments as a part of its phase-II expansion programme to connect 100 locations by December.
Reliance Industries Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani recently said that optical fibre and fixed line broadband is a next big monetisation opportunity for Reliance Jio. “Jio remains on track to bring optic fiber connectivity to enterprises, home and public place. Most infratstructure is already in place,” he said, adding that the company will inform shareholders on the progress.
